Fishing the Alabama Coast

Alabama has miles of coastline and needless to say, the Alabama Gulf Coast offers plenty of opportunities for saltwater anglers to fish year round. Fishermen can fish free of charge off rock groins, breakwaters and many other locations along the coast for Flounder, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Sand Trout, Croaker, Whiting, Bull Reds and Gafftop. There are also numerous public piers which charge a small fee. Inshore bay fishing is great year-round for Trout and Redfish. Anglers fishing a few miles offshore can look forward to Shark and Tarpon. Fishing offshore, anglers can catch Kingfish, Snapper, Dorado, Shark, Cobia, Amber Jack, Grouper, Kingfish, Red Snapper, Cobia, Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna and Wahoo as well as Bull, Sand, Hammerhead and Tiger sharks. Traveling further offshore, anglers will find Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado and Sailfish.

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.
